Bradley grew up idolizing the
likes of Mickey Smith and Steve and
Randy Kinser, who have helped make the sport of
Sprint car racing
what it is today.“One of my earliest memories
was getting to sit in Mickey Smith’s
sprint car” Bradley said. “I used to ride around
in the tow truck
with my dad, and I’ll never forget how hot
tempered the drivers would
be climbing up in that cab after a wreck……I even
got to meet a young
Jeff Gordon in that cab one night!”
Now 26, Bradley has been racing for 7 years and
has achieved great
success, culminating with this years points
championship in the
Inaugural Midwest Mini Sprint Association Series.
Although he never
won a feature in 2008, he had by far the most
consistent season with
a string of top 3 finishes and only 3 dnf’s. The
highlight of his
season came at Salem where brother Scott took the
checkered flag with
the younger Andy right behind him in a close
second.
Bradley is proud to be part of the series and
see’s great things to
come.
“I enjoy every part of it really, the racing
community is a great
group of people. Although it's war on the track,
there is a sense of
camaraderie that is like no other. Not to mention
I love racing with
my dad and brother” said Bradley, “sometimes it
can make for long
quiet car ride home, but we all manage to have a
good time!”
Looking forward to 2009, Bradley says he foresees
big things to
happen with the series, which he considers the
best “bang for your
buck with the high payouts.” Bradley is a gracious
champion that is
looking to repeat and says his future goal is “to
go as far as racing
will take me!” With drivers like Andy Bradley
taking the track each
week, the Midwest Mini Sprint Association is sure
to be a breeding
ground for champions for many years to come.
